This loop around the Mission Trails Visitor Center is an educational gem, with interpretive signs and a variety of habitats to explore. It’s a gentle walk perfect for learning about the natural history of the area and the significance of Mission Trails Regional Park. Educational Focus: We’ll focus on the different ecosystems within the park, including chaparral, oak woodlands, and riparian zones. Kids will learn about the interconnectedness of these environments and how they support a wide variety of wildlife. Historical Importance: Mission Trails was historically used by the Kumeyaay people and later became an important area during the Spanish mission period.
